2005 Guaranteed To Be Best Year Ever for Lexus in Canada

(TORONTO) - Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) announced that its Lexus division set an all-time annual sales record yesterday, with a month and a half of sales still to come. The previous record was achieved in 2004, with sales of 8,318 vehicles.

The luxury manufacturer, which is significantly outperforming many of its rivals in spite of an overall industry downturn this year, attributes its success to unbeatable quality and refinement, as well as an exciting and dynamic product lineup.

"Lexus has found the combination of style, performance and value that discriminating drivers demand in a highly competitive market," said Stuart Payne, Director of Lexus in Canada. "The new IS 250 and 350 have energized demand for sporty performance in the luxury segment, while sales remain robust for the ground-breaking Lexus RX luxury SUV and versatile ES luxury sedans."

In fact, since Lexus launched in North America in 1989, the manufacturer has revolutionized the luxury vehicle segment with one innovation after the next. Lexus continues to win fans for styling, performance and luxury, and for the advanced technology that protects both occupants and the environment.

"My sincere thanks and congratulations to our outstanding Lexus dealer network," said Payne. "Their commitment to excellence in every area of sales and service plus superb Lexus products is a winning formula for success."
